Cory Rillahan, MD, PhD and his daughter Emelia

Cory Rillahan, MD, PhD has joined the ARRE Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Board. This volunteer board of clinicians and scientists provides strategic guidance to the ARRE Foundation.

Dr. Rillahan is a pediatric oncologist at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital and is also the father of a child with Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome (ASXL3). He is a physician scientist with a clinical and scientific interest in pediatric leukemias. His work uses cutting edge genomic and epigenetic technologies to better understand basic disease mechanisms and identify new therapeutic targets for these difficult to treat disorders.

He completed his PhD at the Scripps Research Institute in chemical biology and small molecule drug discovery. Subsequent postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering inspired him to be a physician-scientist and he went on to receive his MD from the NYU Grossman School of Medicine followed by pediatrics training at Boston Children’s Hospital and ultimately pediatric hematology and oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He is excited to share his personal and professional experience to help the mission of the ARRE Foundation and patients with ASXL-related disorders.
